Through the years, we have found, the number one rule in effective communication is to listen, learn, and then create. It’s this practice of understanding and exploration that we continue to build a reputation for success.
While there is no one-size-fits-all-approach to our creative process, we generally follow these guidelines:
All new prospects typically cross our desks via email, Facebook message or by referral from an existing client. As a rule, we reply to all new inquiries within 1-3 business days.
Upon review of the general inquiry, we will coordinate a conference call or meeting at your office to discuss the parameters of the project in greater detail.
In this meeting, we will ask you questions regarding your business, your brand vision, as well as the detailed goals of the project including budget and deadline requirements. During this time, you are also welcome to ask about our professional experience, favorite typeface or thoughts on the latest episode of “This is Us.”
Throughout this discussion, we will quickly be able to determine if the scope of the project is a good fit for our creative practice. In the rare instance we are unable to move forward, we will provide a referral to one of our many talented industry partners.
PROJECT SUMMARY + APPROVAL
After the introductory meeting, we review the provided materials along with our meeting notes and draw up a formal project summary. This includes the full scope of the project, anticipated timeline and estimated budget.
Upon your acceptance of the terms, the project will be added to our production calendar. We will send a confirmation email with the general project start and turnaround dates.
Project delivery milestones are determined on a per project basis.
RESEARCH + INSPIRATION
The creative process (the fun part) starts with a thorough review of all provided inspiration visuals, meeting notes and detailed responses outlined in our design questionnaire. This information gives us a solid foundation to begin the creative discovery process and helps to avoid costly revisions as the project moves forward.
In this time, we also typically research regional or national competitors to provide additional direction in terms of important content or trends within your industry.
DESIGN + PRODUCTION
Once we have a thorough understanding of your stylistic preferences, existing branding requirements and the specific goals of the project we move forward with a brainstorming session that includes a series of sketches.
These roughs are then cleaned up and paired with complimentary typography and an appropriate color palette.
The first mockup along with notes outlining the thought process behind the ideas are then submitted for your review within the proposed timeline as outlined in the project summary.
Weekly status updates are available as needed for larger scale or ongoing projects.
Upon your review, we make adjustments to the chosen concept based on your feedback. This includes copy changes, color adjustments and updates to the imagery or overall composition.
During this time, we also provide an extra polish to the typography.
It’s important to note, the final turnaround is always dependent on timely feedback from the client.
Complete and approved artwork will be provided in hi- and low-res formats based on the specific requirements of the project.
As needed, we are happy to forward files directly to our local print vendors for output.
At the close of the project, we send you an invoice for services provided and all expenses accrued during the project including the purchase of stock images or printing.
All files are added to our archives for safe keeping. We occasionally like to share a blog post or announcement on social media regarding a recently completed project. If this is an issue, please let us know.
