Logo Refresh and New Marketing Collateral for Sun Moon Yoga

The owner of Sun Moon Yoga was in the final stages of an exciting move to her new studio in Downtown Jamestown. This new larger space featured an abundance of warm, natural light — perfect for her meditative yoga style in which students are encouraged to find personal meaning and satisfaction within their practice.

Classes at Sun Moon Yoga are uplifting and promote balance, calm and transformation. Each practice cultivates flexibility and strength of body, mind and spirit through the use of yoga postures, breathing practices and mindfulness. With small class sizes that feature hands-on adjustments, we felt the tone of her marketing collateral and updated logo needed a warm, friendly tone.

THE LOGO REFRESH

The client was happy with her existing logo graphic, but we agreed that the typography could use a little polish to suit her new space.  After our discussion and a quick review of the inspiration images she provided we set out on a creative adventure to find the perfect typeface… one of our most favorite things about design!

The typestyle in the logo below has a warm, organic quality that suits the style of the graphic and the fluid nature of her yoga practice.

Additionally, as we reviewed the existing logo graphic and discussed how it will be used in a larger scale for outdoor signage, we felt we should propose a slightly simplified mark that would hold a greater visual impact. The original graphic as shown below also had a heavy black line which we removed, creating a more open, airy tone.

HERE’S A LOOK AT THE OLD LOGO

By removing the black outlines, we created a lighter, more welcoming graphic that suits the new, larger studio space. This will also translate well at a large or small scale within the marketing collateral and signage.

THE POSTCARD
